My research has strongly focused on biotechnology of photosynthetic organisms. I have a BSc’s in Biotechnology (2010) and MSc’s in Agricultural and Environmental Biotechnology (2012) from the University of Sassari, Italy. After my master I moved to Valencia, Spain, where I worked at IMBCP (Polytechnic University of Valencia) for two years as research assistant in the field of plant synthetic biology. I worked on different projects related to the optimization of CRISPR systems for gene overexpression/downregulation in Nicotiana tabacum. In 2017 I moved to Australia for pursuing my PhD at University of Queensland, Brisbane. During my PhD, obtained in 2022, I further improved my experience on biotechnology of photosynthetic organisms, specifically on metabolic engineering, protein expression and system biology of cyanobacteria.
