Daniel Figueiredo, Gabriel Bombo, and Ana Teresa Gonçalves, from GreenCoLab, attended AlgaEurope 2021 to present their most recent research work. AlgaEurope Conference, which was organized by EABA – European Algae Biomass Association and DLG Benelux, was held online from 7 to 10 of December, and provided an “opportunity to learn and understand all about algae production and commercialization”.
Daniel Figueiredo, whose R&D work has been focusing on microalgae technologies, presented “Electrocoagulation to harvest and enrich Nannochloropsis oceanica biomass for agricultural applications”, during Scientific Session 3: Technology and Processing – Tuesday, 7 December (02:45 pm – 03:00 pm CET).
Gabriel Bombo, whose recent work has been focused on improving target traits in different microalgal strains, presented “Isolation of novel microalgae mutants with improved protein contents and pigments for food applications”, during Scientific Session 5: Algae for Food and Health – Wednesday, 8 December (11:00 am – 11:15 am CET).
Ana Teresa Gonçalves, Fish Nutrition and Immunology Researcher, presented “Algae biomass as potential additives for fish gut health modulation”, also during Scientific Session 5: Algae for Food and Health – Wednesday, 8 December (12:10 am – 12:25 pm CET).
