On Wednesday, 9th of March, MAGNIFICENT project promoted the online webinar “High value products from marine microalgae: learnings and opportunities from the Magnificent BBI-JU / H2020 project (2017-2021)”.

 

The webinar addressed recent progress in the area of industrial microalgae cultivation and biorefinery for the successful development of new products from 3 algae strains: Tisochrysis lutea, Phaeodactylum tricornutum and Nannochloropsis oceanica with applications in food, aquafeed and cosmetics. Furthermore, the results of the performed Techno Economic Assessment, a Life Cycle Assessment and the business case development were presented.
Hugo Pereira, GreenCoLab Innovation Manager, addressed about “Progress in microalgae strain improvement and industrial-scale cultivation”, on behalf of Necton, during the session of Highlights and conclusions.
