On March 27, the promising €44 million Vertical Algas algae project has officially taken off with a global kick-off meeting organized by GreenCoLab at the University of Algarve. This most-anticipated meeting was attended by over 120 persons, represented by over 38 strategic partners, as well as other associates and media partners.
The event was initially composed of a morning Public Presentation Session with interventions from the President of the Board of Inovamar, the President of the Board of Necton, the President of the Commission for Coordination and Regional Development of the Algarve, the Regional Director of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Algarve and the Dean of the University of Algarve. The afternoon was marked by a closed general internal meeting with the presentation of the Sub-Projects involved, and corresponding plans and goals. To close, a visit to Necton was arranged.
Vertical Algas, led by Necton, is integrated into the Blue Bioeconomy Pact, and its driven by Inovamar. It is funded by the European NextGenerationEU, through the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
