In a significant step forward for aquaculture research, SPAROS spearheaded a workshop on “Biomarkers for Fish Performance and Robustness Assessment” at Universidade do Algarve, on 9th February.
This event was part of the ongoing projects “Ignition” and “Algae Vertical,” aimed at pioneering innovative solutions for aquaculture sustainability and efficiency.
The workshop convened experts and professionals from across the sector, including GreenCoLab, S2AQUAcoLAB, Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR)CIIMAR, and Universidad de Cádiz . The discussions centered on groundbreaking approaches in the use of biomarkers to assess fish health and performance, covering crucial topics like molecular markers, growth potential, oxidative stress, immune response, and stress prediction under various conditions.
This collaborative effort highlights the importance of innovation and shared knowledge in our quest for sustainable aquaculture.
