The 3rd edition of the International Conference of CellAgri Portugal took place on 27 and 28 November 2025 in the Algarve, bringing together researchers, companies, technology centres, and national and international entities dedicated to advancing cellular agriculture.

Over two days, the conference promoted knowledge sharing through scientific presentations, poster sessions, round tables and networking opportunities, encouraging new collaborations and the development of innovative solutions. During the event, Pedro Moñino Fernández, Bioprocess Optimization WG leader, presented the poster “Unlocking Circularity in Cellular Agriculture with Microalgae”. This intervention was part of the INOVACEL project, led by partner Necton and developed in consortium with GreenCoLab, CCMAR and S2AQUAcoLAB.

The project focuses on creating innovative solutions that promote circularity and sustainability in cellular agriculture, exploring the potential of microalgae as a strategic biotechnological resource. The work presented highlighted GreenCoLab’s contribution to strengthening innovation in the national biotechnology ecosystem and advancing more sustainable approaches to the production of cultivated food and biomaterials.

This edition was organised in collaboration with several leading institutions, including CCMAR, S2AQUAcoLAB, Instituto Superior Técnico, Wageningen University, ITQB, among other entities that play a key role in promoting research and innovation in cellular agriculture.
