On 30 June 2025, the network of Collaborative Laboratories (CoLABs) marked an important milestone with the event 7 Years of CoLABs: Impacts and Perspectives”“at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon. Organised by the Forum of Collaborative Laboratories (FCoLAB), the meeting brought together government, industrial and scientific leaders to reflect on the results achieved since 2017 and discuss future strategies.

With the confirmed participation of organisations such as National Innovation Agency (ANI), Faculty of Science and Technology (FCT), Portuguese Investment and Foreign Trade Agency (AICEP), Northern Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR-Norte) and several leading companies, the event highlighted the role of Collabs, in connecting academia and the business community, promoting innovation with a real impact on the economy and society. Hugo Pereira, director of GreenCoLaB, was present, emphasising the importance of sustainable solutions in the context of the blue bioeconomy and the role of algae in the circular economy.

An exhibition area showcased the work carried out by more than 20 CoLABs across various sectors, highlighting the national and international relevance of this collaborative innovation network.
