Inês Trincheiras, a PhD student at GreenCoLab, took part in the 7th edition of the Blue Think Conference, which took place on 3 and 4 September 2026 in the Green Auditorium of Building 8 on the Gambelas Campus of the University of the Algarve, in Faro.
During the event, she presented the poster “Deciphering Transcriptomic Landscapes of Microalgal Mutants for Advanced Food and Feed Applications”, which focused on the study of gene expression profiles in microalgal mutants and their potential for applications in human and animal feed.
Organised by the CCMAR and CIIMAR PhD Student Committees, as part of CIMAR-LA, the conference aimed to bring together students and researchers to share scientific findings and strengthen links between groups and laboratories at the Universities of the Algarve and Porto. The programme included oral presentations, poster sessions and opportunities for discussion and networking amongst participants, covering different areas of marine and environmental sciences.
Inês Trincheira’s participation enabled her to present her PhD research and exchange experiences with other early-career researchers, contributing to the discussion on the potential of microalgae in the development of new food solutions.
