GreenCoLab took part in “Aquaculture Europe 2026, which took place from 28 September to 1 October in Ljubljana, Slovenia, with Ana Teresa Gonçalves, Group Leader of Animal Nutrition & Health, Rute Félix, Specialist of Animal Nutrition & Health WG, and Daniel Silva, Business & Dissemination Manager of GreenCoLab, in attendance. Under the theme Aquaculture in Global Change”, the event brought together researchers and industry representatives to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing aquaculture in a context of global change.
Ana Teresa Gonçalves delivered two oral presentations focusing on wound healing and skin health in Atlantic salmon. The presentation “Algae-enriched diets as a nutritional strategy to modulate wound healing responses in Atlantic salmon” examined the use of algae-enriched diets to modulate wound healing responses in Atlantic salmon.
In her second presentation, “An ex vivo skin explant model to evaluate wound re-epithelialization and inflammatory priming in Atlantic salmon”, she presented a model using skin explants maintained ex vivo to study epithelial regeneration following injury and the mechanisms underlying the inflammatory response.
Rute Félix contributed to the poster “Matching salmonid skin dynamics: proxy models for health and nutritional screening”, which focused on experimental models to study salmonid skin dynamics and support the evaluation of health and nutritional strategies.
Daniel Silva ensured GreenCoLab’s presence in the event’s exhibition area, at a stand shared with S2AQUAcoLAB, providing a space to network with researchers, companies and other professionals in the sector, and to publicise GreenCoLab’s activities and expertise.
