On 28 November, the School of Engineering at the University of Minho in Braga hosted the closing event of the IBEROBIO project, an initiative dedicated to strengthening biotechnology as a driver of sustainable development and promoting cross-border cooperation between Portugal and Spain.
GreenCoLab was represented by its Projects Manager, Ana Ramos, who presented the main results developed by the team within the scope of the project, reinforcing the consortium’s contribution to biotechnological enhancement and the creation of new collaborative dynamics in the Iberian Peninsula.
The event brought together key entities such as COLAB4FOOD, the University of Minho and Bioga, in a moment dedicated to consolidating partnerships and outlining future strategies for the sector. The official closing session included the presentation of the project results, a lecture dedicated to the relationship between Biotechnology and Space by Katie King (BioOrbit), a round table on the role of biotechnology in the challenges of sustainable development, and the signing of the Iberian Hub Declaration of Intent, a milestone that reinforces the joint commitment to boost biotechnological innovation and competitiveness in the Iberian space.
The IBEROBIO project thus concludes with a clear vision: to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, accelerate knowledge transfer, and promote biotechnology as a strategic area for the sustainable future of the Iberian Peninsula.
